Pre-Summer AC Service Checklist for Tezpur Homes

The first hot week of the year is when every AC technician in Tezpur gets busy at once. The smart move is to get your AC checked before the heat arrives, usually in February or March. This checklist helps you prepare and know what to expect.

What you can do yourself

• Clean the filters. Slide them out, wash with plain water and let them dry fully in the shade
• Check the remote. Fresh batteries and all buttons working
• Clear the outdoor unit. Remove leaves, plastic and anything stored near it
• Look at the drain pipe outside for cracks, blockages or insect nests
• Run the AC for 15 minutes on cool mode and notice any smells, noises or weak airflow

What your technician should check

• Deep cleaning of indoor and outdoor coils
• Gas pressure and signs of leaks
• Capacitor, contactor and wiring condition
• Fan motor and blade condition on both units
• Drain line flush
• Cooling output measured at the vent
• Earthing and voltage at the socket

Why before summer?

• No waiting. Appointments are easier to get before the rush
• Problems found early. A weak capacitor replaced in March will not fail in May
• Lower bills. Clean coils mean the compressor works less to reach your set temperature
• Peace of mind going into the hottest months

Tips for the season ahead

• Set the temperature between 24 and 26 degrees. Each degree lower adds noticeably to your bill
• Use ceiling fans along with the AC to spread cool air faster
• Close curtains on sun-facing windows during the afternoon
• Clean filters every two to three weeks during heavy use
